Memory

forgot all about this blog... think I'll keep posting. about random things. :-) I've just found so many more songs I like -- I'm branching out into every genre except rap, it seems. and hiphop and those things. but I just found a song I like that I think might be metal. I dunno... well, it doens't matter as long as I like it.
schoolwork is just about taking over my life. i can't work on my webcomic, which I really want to do, and I've written on my story exactly twice in the past two months. at least I now have this laptop so I can do my homework faster. but if it's like this in eighth grade what'll it be like in high school, especially if I go to stuy?! I can handle it but I just recently found out how important friends are, and fun times... and cake :-). also it seems like music is becoming really really important -- I can't think of the last day (that wasn't a holiday where I couldn't) that I didn't listen to music. somehow it helps me work. which I like. a lot. at least ela isn't mindless, boring work -- it tends to be the homework that's possible to enjoy, writing stories and such.

New Post

Oh my, I haven't posted much in a while. Not much has been happening; it's the end of the year, and everything's winding down. I played my last trombone piece of the year today with a group of other seventh-graders at the eighth-grade graduation. Our conductor messed up but the trombones triumphed. As they normally do.
Well, I probably won't put up any new posts for quite a while. On sunday I leave for Florida, and from then till mid-August, I'm away. Florida-Israel-Paris-Washington-Oregon-Massachusetts. Whoopee.
Well, it's my first time out of the country! You can't say I'm not looking forward to it.

Saturdays

I can't post anything on Friday evenings or Saturdays, because we'll be cleaning up for Shabbos. It's a Jewish "holiday", more like a day of rest, every week. We can't use electricity, can't write, can't walk a certain distance (something like three miles), can't even braid hair! Yet it's the most relaxing time of the week. You can just sit around with a book all day. Or climb in a tree. Or play a game with your little sister who's been bugging you to play a game for weeks.
Shabbos ends Saturday night, when the first three stars come out. Nowadays that means around 9.

Wynton Marsales

He came to Jazz Band, and it was amazing! Although he did cause Soiffer's face to be red the whole time. He took over some of the drums and piano (Will barely got to play his own instrument!) but it was all great. He can play some really high notes. We had photos taken of the whole class and him, and then nearly eeryone got something signed, mostly music. However, Caspar got his trombone signed, Roman got his baritone signed, and Belen and Karen got their saxes signed. I had him sign my case, which will last a lot longer. (Two people even had their iPods signed.)
I want to keep playing trombone. It's actually more important than taking a writing class, to me. I want to play trombone in South Pacific. I know I could, eventually. Just you wait.

First post

Hey, this is the first post. Not sure what to write. Wynton Marsales is coming to jazz band today! (And it's the last day of jazz band for the year. :-(. ) Advanced band already stopped, and chorus, and band will stop after the eighth grade graduation. Then no trombone playing till next year...
I'm going out of the country for the first time this summer! As soon as school ends, I'm off to Florida. As soon as I get back, the next day I go to Israel. From Israel straight to Paris. Back home, then to the Northwest for two-three weeks! Back home, maybe massachusetts... then eighth grade...
